Stella Stephanie Kosim’s concert experience includes solo, duo and ensemble performances. Stella’s recent concert at DODO Music & Art Center in Jakarta, Indonesia was well received by the classical guitar community. She has also performed for the Tri-Cities and Seattle Classic Guitar Societies in solo and ensemble settings. Stella’s CD “Be Thou My Vision” features traditional hymns arranged for solo classical guitar, and is available through her website.
A graduate of the University of Washington, where she studied classical guitar performance with Michael Partington, Stella received several prestigious scholarships in support of her studies. She has performed in master classes presented by the Seattle Classic Guitar Society, Northwest Guitar Festival, New York Guitar Seminar at Mannes and the Guitar Foundation of America. She has also studied with Jorge Caballero in New York City, Paul Grove, Scott Kritzer and David Leisner. She began her classical guitar studies at Yayasan Pendidikan Musik, a private music school in Jakarta, Indonesia, under the guidance of Oliver Pletscher.
After receiving a teaching diploma from Yayasan Pendidikan Musik, she began teaching at the Basic Education Guitar Program of the school in 2011. Stella has also taken Suzuki Guitar teacher training.
